This memorandum, which follows the agreement signed earlier with the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) of Ukraine, constitutes another important step in the regional and international networking of institutions responsible for the administration of assets obtained from illegal activity. It strengthens inter-institutional cooperation in the field of administration and social use of seized and confiscated assets, creating the basis for joint projects, exchange of experiences, trainings and joint awareness-raising initiatives.
Through this document, the parties commit to developing joint research, educational and practical activities, to promote the exchange of information, and to build joint cooperation platforms in the field of asset management, in accordance with the best European standards.
After signing the Memorandum, the Chief Administrator of AAPSK, Ms. Risena Xhaja, emphasized that “this agreement consolidates Albania’s role as a reliable partner in the European and regional network of institutions that fight organized crime, through the transparent and responsible administration of seized and confiscated assets.”
For his part, the Director of FAZUOI, Mr. Emir Bašić, assessed the cooperation with AAPSK as an important step in building a common institutional front against illicit enrichment, emphasizing the importance of sharing experiences and best practices between the countries of the region.
The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of AAPSK’s ongoing efforts to deepen international cooperation and advance Albania’s integration into European asset management networks, in support of the principles of the rule of law and transparency.
