The Chief Administrator of the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets, Ms. Risena Xhaja, hosted in a working meeting Mr. Martin Schaller, Deputy Ambassador of Austria, and Mr. Andreas Nagy, Police Attaché at the Austrian Embassy in Tirana.
During the meeting, the strategic vision and achievements to date of the Agency in terms of effective administration of seized and confiscated assets, as an essential instrument in the fight against organized crime, were discussed. In this context, the parties exchanged ideas on concrete forms of support and cooperation with the Austrian authorities, with the aim of further strengthening institutional mechanisms and increasing efficiency in this field.
Special attention was paid to:
•strengthening institutional capacities through training and technical assistance;
•exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of security and asset management; as well as the development of joint projects aimed at increasing transparency and efficiency, including the aspect of social reuse of assets in the public interest.
The AAPSK highly appreciates the continued support of Austria, as an important partner in consolidating the rule of law, strengthening international cooperation and increasing the effectiveness of joint efforts against organized crime.
In conclusion, the parties emphasized the clear commitment to continue in a common front against organized crime, placing particular emphasis on regional and international cooperation, as a necessity for guaranteeing security and strengthening democratic order.
